English - More than a Language

English is often attributed as a measuring unit to someone's intelligence in our society. But it is a language just like Punjabi, Hindi or Arabic besides Urdu and Seraiki that we know and speak. It should be learnt naturally just like other tongues. But English holds a dominating importance over other languages because it is easier to learn; the chest of literature is vast but more significantly, it hosts a sheer amount of scientific knowledge and discoveries at its disposal.

According to my feeble judgement, the most important function of English Language is to get to know the people round the globe and make the people of one country united with the people of another country and vice versa. China, who takes exceptional "Pride" in its own language has used its "Mandarin" as a tool to isolate its people with rest of the world.

Learn English not because it will enlist you among the "intelligent" people but to be added in the global pack of humanity with a mutual goal of social reconciliation as well as economic serenity and to accumulate the wealth of scientific, artistic and philosophical knowledge.
